El aeropuerto más grande del mundo se inaugurará en China

Las autoridades chinas han revelado que para el mes de septiembre abrirá sus puertas el aeropuerto más grande del mundo, el Pekín-Daxing. En un primer momento comenzará a operar parcialmente pero en el 2025, a plena capacidad atendería anualmente a unas 100 millones de personas.

?Beijing Daxing International Airport In 2019, Beijing's second international airport is set to open its doors. The new airport is expected to welcome 100 million passengers a year, according to plans, when it reaches its full capacity. The Beijing Daxing International Airport to become the new home for China Southern Airlines, whose base is currently Guangzhou, and for China Eastern, which is currently based in Shanghai. Air China will remain at the existing Beijing Capital Airport. With this concentration in the capital, South China Morning Post expects a "murderous competition" between the three major state-owned airlines. Los trabajos en su exterior ya han sido finalizados y el interior de las distintas terminales se irá culminando por etapas. Las pistas igualmente ya están operativas y los primeros vuelos comenzarán probarse el 15 de marzo cuando también quede lista la torre de control.

El Pekín-Daxing, llamado así por el distrito donde se ubica, a unos 46 kilómetros del centro de la capital china y en total tendrá seis terminales las cuales a plena capacidad podrían llegar a manejar 880 000 vuelos anuales.

Se espera que sea la sede principal de las aerolíneas estatales ChinaSouthern Airlines y China Eastern. Con el nuevo aeropuerto se incrementarán nuevas rutas tanto nacionales como internacionales.
