Taylor Swift se lleva el premio MTV al mejor video del año

La compositora y cantante estadounidense Taylor Swift se llevó el premio MYV al video del año por su himno LGBTI “You Need to Calm Down”.

Swift, nacida en Tennessee, abrió la ceremonia de los MTV precisamente interpretando el tema con un escenario engalanado con la bandera arcoíris. Seguidamente, agarró su guitarra para cantar un tema más melodioso, la balada “Lover” de su más reciente disco lanzado el viernes.

“Quiero decir que este es un premio votado por los fans así que primero quisiera decir gracias a los fans porque en este video se dijeron varias cosas importantes, el hecho de que votaran por él significa que quieren un mundo en el que todos sean tratados por igual”, dijo Swift en su discurso de aceptación del galardón.

El video de “You Need to Calm Down”, una canción de Swift contra los homófobos y la gente que la critica sin razón, incluyó a varios famosos como Ellen DeGeneres, Laverne Cox, RuPaul y el elenco de “Queer Eye”.

Además del mejor video del año, también se llevó el premio al mejor video con mensaje positivo.

“Si eres un chico que está viendo este programa y eres diferente, que se siente incomprendido, te necesitamos más que nunca para mostrar tu arte, comparte tus historias, comparte tu verdad en el mundo sin importar cuál es tu identidad, cómo te identificas, a quién amas”, dijo Jhon Hall, quien fue uno de los productores ejecutivos del video.

Swift estaba empatada con Ariana Grande como la artista más veces nominada. Grande también se llevó los galardones a mejor artista del año y mejor canción del verano por “Boyfriend”.

Por su parte, Rosalía y Balvin alcanzaron el reconocimiento a mejor video latino por su éxito “Con altura”.

“Soy de Barcelona y me siento muy contenta por representar el lugar de donde vengo, representar a mi país, mi cultura, gracias por dejarme cantar esta noche, voy a cantar en español”, dijo Rosalía quien momentos más tarde interpretó “Yo x Ti, Tu x Mi” con Ozuna.

“Estoy muy orgulloso de ser latino, somos parte de la pandilla latina. Necesitamos ayuda para la selva del Amazonas porque está incendiándose, necesitamos ayuda para la selva”, dijo J. Balvin.
